More info

The ferry is 63.65 meters long overall, 15.50 meters wide, and has a deck capacity of 149 passengers and crew and 50 passenger cars. It is being built under a contract signed in December 2023. The design was developed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company AS, supported by Remontowa Marine Design & Consulting, a subsidiary of Remontowa Holding, for the working documentation.

The design placed particular emphasis on the use of lightweight materials and the implementation of a wide range of low-loss solutions and systems, ultimately enabling maximum reduction in energy consumption.

The ferry has two azimuth thrusters with vertically mounted electric motors, powered by batteries or emergency generators. In normal operation, the batteries will be recharged from the shore power grid during unloading/loading.

The vessel will likely be handed over in the first quarter of 2026. The vessel will serve the Stornes-Bjørnerå route in the Troms region, covering the distance between the piers in no more than 12 minutes.
